Mango Pear and Green Tea Smoothie

Nothing better after a long day of lectures than a home-made smoothie full of delicious and healthy ingredients before tackling the evening’s set of homework. This recipe takes a little longer than usual to prepare as you need to give enough time for the green tea to cool, alternatively, buy a bottle of unsweetened green tea in a supermarket. A 500ml bottle should be enough to make 4-5 lots of this recipe.


  • 1 ripe mango
  • 1 asian pear (or 2 small normal pears)
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup green tea

Smoothie Time!

Start by brewing your tea, I use Uji no Tsuyu Green Tea (Silver), according to the instructions. Green tea is generally steeped at around 85°C, so turn your kettle off just before it starts to boil fully, and pour into your cup/pot from a height.
